The Celuxer™ FlexBoard is made of 100% food-safe silicone, tested to European LFGB standards. With a hardness of 70 Shore A, the surface is firm enough for stability, but soft enough to protect your knives.


Inspired by the rubber cutting boards of Japanese sushi chefs, we developed a board that is not only knife-friendly, but also completely microplastic-free and dishwasher safe.

Silicone is naturally resistant to high temperatures. Our shelf is made of 100% silicone, a high-quality material that can handle up to 220°C without deforming or giving off harmful substances. This allows you to safely clean your shelf in the dishwasher as well as use it with hot pans or food.

Easy To Keep Hygienic

Unlike hard plastic cutting boards, silicone does not release microscopic particles during cutting.

Because the material is knife-friendly, cut marks naturally appear on the surface when used. This is normal with silicone and does not affect the hygiene, safety or function of the board.

Frequently Asked Questions

Isn't silicone just a type of plastic?

No. Silicone is not plastic - which is exactly why we use it.


Whereas plastic is made from petroleum and breaks down into harmful microplastics, silicone is an elastic material based on sand (silicon) and oxygen. It is chemically stable, does not give off particles, and is resistant to high temperatures, fats, acids and daily use.


You can think of it as a more hygienic, safe and sustainable alternative to traditional plastic.

We use only 100% food-grade silicone, tested for use with food. The same material is used for baby pacifiers, medical devices and baking molds.


So no, silicone is not plastic. It's better.

Can silicone melt when in contact with a hot pan?

Our cutting board is made of heat-resistant food-grade silicone and can handle temperatures up to 220°C.

If you hit it briefly with a hot pan or knife, nothing happens. Only in extremely prolonged direct contact with open flame or a boiling hot pan (>250°C) can it deform.

Is this cutting board BPA-free?

Yes, completely. Silicone does not contain BPA, phthalates or other plasticizers like some plastics do.

So you cut safely without hormone disruptors in your food.

Can I use both sides of the cutting board?

Sure! The FlexBoard is designed with a double-sided surface, so you can easily switch between raw and prepared foods - convenient to avoid cross-contamination.

Is the cutting board dishwasher safe?

 Yes. Silicone is perfectly resistant to heat, water and soap. So you can clean it in the dishwasher without worry - keeping your kitchen routine quick and hygienic.

Does silicone release microparticles when cutting?

No. Silicone is resilient and flexible, so it does not wear out like plastic cutting boards.

No microplastics or micro-scrapes are created during use.

Is the material safe for everyday use?

Absolutely. We use only 100% food-grade silicone, tested for food contact.

The material is non-toxic, odorless and is also used in pacifiers and baby products.

Is silicone toxic if you accidentally eat it?

Silicone is a chemically inert material, meaning it does not react with your body.

If you accidentally swallow a small piece, it is not toxic and is usually just excreted naturally.

Note: silicone is obviously not food, so we do not recommend eating it 😉

But with normal use, or even occasional ingestion of a miniscule particle, there are no known health risks.

Does this board show cutting marks or cuts?

Yes. The board is made of 100% food-safe silicone with a hardness of 70 Shore A - a deliberate choice for knife-friendliness. As a result, slight cut marks or indentations may occur during use. This is not a defect, but normal behavior of the soft surface and does not affect the safety, function or hygiene of the board.

Why is the material so soft?

The soft surface prevents knives from becoming blunt. This makes the board ideal for everyday cutting where knife retention is important. For heavier work, a harder surface, such as the PureCut Pro, is more suitable.
